About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. This role is critical in verifying and keeping records on all incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and supporting our production operations by ensuring materials and parts are where they need to be when they need to be there. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work quickly and efficiently while maintaining accuracy and following prescribed safety regulations. This position offers a blend of hands-on material handling, data entry, and customer service responsibilities in a fast-paced aerospace MRO environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items and recording shortages.
  • Correspond with shippers to rectify damages, shortages, and discrepancies.
  • Receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by verifying items against purchase orders and shipping instructions.
  • Make arrangements for pickups by carriers specified on customer purchase orders.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials at all times.
  • Make pickups and deliveries to suppliers for parts and raw materials using a company van (valid driver's license and clean driving record required).
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow all prescribed safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform basic data entry to track incoming and outgoing goods.
  • Maintain inventory records of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Utilize computer systems to track various aspects of shipments and goods.
  • Support the documentation requirements for shipments of goods produced and received supplies.
  • Collaborate with final inspection and other departments to ensure accurate shipping instructions are followed.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance records related to shipping, including ITAR and hazmat documentation as applicable.
  • Qualifications

    Required:

  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move items exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn basic data entry functions.
  • Ability to self-manage with strong organizational and task-oriented skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Preferred:

  • Prior experience working in an FAA-regulated environment.
  • Experience with Pentagon ERP operating system.
  • Hazmat certification or training.
  • ITAR training for shipping goods.
  • Experience with shipping regulations and documentation requirements.
