About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 145 MRO Avionics Technician to join our team. This role is critical in performing maintenance, repairs, and modifications on various avionics systems in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of avionics systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced MRO environment. This position offers a blend of hands-on technical work and precise documentation responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and FAA standards.
  • Receive daily work assignments from the supervisor and manage priorities effectively.
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, reassemble, and test all assigned avionics units per technical data.
  • Perform required test setups and execute testing procedures accurately.
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret engineering prints, specifications, overhaul manuals, and electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic schematics.
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret engineering prints, specifications, overhaul manuals, and electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic schematics.
  • Utilize mechanical and electronic measuring instruments including calipers, height gages, depth indicators, micrometers, power supplies, multimeters, pressure gages, and flow meters.
  • Troubleshot complex avionics systems and components to identify and resolve issues.
  • Continuously evaluate work processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Keep accurate records through proper documentation of all measurements according to the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) or relevant technical data.
  • Write detailed evaluation reports for each unit processed.
  • Demonstrate understanding of all shop forms including FAA 8130 tags, tear down reports, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain open and clear communication with internal customers, supervisors, and team members regarding work status and technical issues.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Adhere to all company policies and government regulations including FAA and EASA standards.
  • Show commitment to continuous improvement in technical skills and work processes.
  • Meet on-time throughput targets for assigned units.
  • Qualifications

    Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalen
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the aerospace industry, preferably in electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic component overhaul.
  • Strong familiarity with CFR 145 and EASA 145 regulations.
  • Proven ability to read, comprehend, and understand engineering prints, specifications, overhaul manuals, and complex schematics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electronic measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Preferred:

  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Previous experience in an FAA-certified 145 repair station.
  • Specialized training or certification in avionics systems.
  • Experience with a wide variety of aircraft types and avionics platforms.
  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field.
