About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to join our leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is critical in managing the sales team, overseeing all customer relationships, driving customer acquisition, and ensuring the achievement of key customer metrics and revenue targets. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in aerospace or technical B2B sales, exceptional management skills, and the ability to develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy. This position offers a unique blend of leadership, strategic planning, customer relationship management, and hands-on sales execution in a fast-paced aerospace MRO environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve individual and departmental revenue goals.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, processes, and best practices to maximize team effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Set sales targets, monitor performance against metrics, and hold the team accountable for results.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new sales team members as needed to support growth objectives.
  • Foster a high-performance culture that emphasizes accountability, professionalism, and customer focus.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and performance updates to the CEO and leadership team
  • Manage and oversee all customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, retention, and account growth.
  • Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers across aerospace, defense, and industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • Serve as the executive point of escalation for key accounts and complex customer issues.
  • Establish and track customer metrics including satisfaction scores, retention rates, and lifetime value.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at strategic accounts.
  • Identify market opportunities and develop targeted approaches for customer acquisition.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
  • Analyze market intelligence including competition, customer trends, pricing data, and fleet information to inform sales strategy.
  • Work with the leadership team to develop and deploy the overall commercial strategy.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop sales campaigns and materials that support revenue and margin growth goals.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and CRM systems to analyze sales data, track customer metrics, and generate performance reports.
  • Prepare and present sales performance reports, market analysis, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
  • Align internal resources including Sales, Program Management, Supply Chain, Marketing, Engineering, and Operations to ensure delivery execution and achievement of commercial targets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support commercial objectives.
  • Qualifications

    Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience in aerospace, MRO, manufacturing, or a related technical B2B industry.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of sales management or team leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of acquiring new customers and growing existing accounts.
  • Strong understanding of customer relationship management and account management best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CRM systems (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with the ability to interface with executive leadership both internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, customer metrics, and market intelligence.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a sales team.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance requirements.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Preferred:

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience in an FAA-regulated MRO environment or aerospace component repair industry.
  • Experience with Pentagon ERP or similar aerospace ERP systems.
  • Established network of contacts within the Memphis-area aerospace and manufacturing community.
  • Experience developing and executing sales campaigns with marketing teams.
  • Familiarity with RFP/RFQ processes and contract negotiation.
