Perform advanced calibration, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of precision measurement tools and aerospace components including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, pressure gauges, dial indicators, electronic test equipment, and avionics test sets.Calibrate aerospace parts and components in accordance with FAA regulations, ISO 17025, AS9100, and manufacturer specifications.Develop, review, and update calibration procedures and technical data to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.Troubleshoot complex out-of-tolerance conditions, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.Utilize precision standards and advanced test equipment to verify tool accuracy and make necessary adjustments.Maintain and operate specialized calibration equipment including multifunction calibrators, pressure controllers, temperature baths, and RF/microwave test sets.Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and schematics to perform accurate calibrations.Ensure all calibration activities meet traceability requirements and industry best practices.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior calibration technicians and apprentices.Review and approve calibration certificates, reports, and technical documentation generated by the team.Assist in training new technicians on calibration procedures, equipment usage, and quality standards.Lead process improvement initiatives within the metrology lab to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.Serve as the subject matter expert for complex calibration challenges and customer inquiries.Manage the complete tool lifecycle process including receiving, tracking, and shipping customer tools.Generate and review detailed calibration certificates and reports for both internal and customer tools.Maintain accurate records of calibration results, non-conformances, and corrective actions.Utilize Microsoft Excel and calibration management software (CMS) to track tool inventories, generate reports, and analyze data.Coordinate with internal teams and external customers regarding tool status, scheduling, and technical inquiries.Support quality audits by providing documentation, process explanations, and technical expertise.Ensure the metrology lab maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
